Home to Harmony by Philip Gulley
Starting Friday Sept 29 from 7 to 9pm
The first book Maureen’s club is reading is Philip Gulley’s Home To Harmony, a warm and funny small town tale. The author is a Quaker minister who writes fiction as well as non- fiction; most of his writings revolve around the way things used to be. Home To Harmony is a book about an out-of-work pastor, Sam Gardner, who returns to his home town and takes on the duties of pastor at his childhood church. You will get to know all the quirky small town folk and get lost in the day-to-day life of Harmony. This is the first in a series of books set in the ‘Harmony’ world.
It’s available at the public library and can be purchased for $6.79 at Walmart or $7.99 at Amazon.com. The club will host its first meeting at church on September 25th at 7 pm. If members are interested we can hold subsequent meetings at each other’s homes. Contact Maureen at (856) 373-0931 or moesbox@comcast.net if you are interested in joining.
Quotes from Amazon.com: "Philip Gulley's writing style is full of dry wit that makes me laugh out loud and insist that those near me listen to a funny section."
"This is a wonderful lighthearted book. It is fun to read, and just right after a hard day, when you need some good laughs and relaxation. I would definitely recommend it."
